Sowohl ROS((https://www.ros.org/)) als auch ADTF((https://www.b-plus.com/en/engineering/technologie/adtf.html)) sind abgeschlossene, eigenständige Entwicklungsumgebungen / -frameworks, die nicht für den kombinierten Gebrauch gedacht sind. Und warum auch? Jeweils für sich erfüllen sie ihren Einsatzzweck sehr gut und haben einen hohen Entwicklungsstand erreicht. ADTF mit einem direkterem Fokus auf die Fahrzeugtechnik als das in der allgemeineren (und damit flächendeckenderen) Robotik angesiedelte ROS. Beide haben ihre Vorzüge. Was aber, wenn eine Verbindung der so eigenständigen Systeme dringend notwendig wird? Im Verbundprojekt GEwAF ist der Fall eingetreten und es wurde eine prototypische Verbindung implementiert. ROS as well as ADTF are both pretty much isolated and stand-alone development environments / frameworks, which are not thought to be used in combination. And why would they? Each for itself fulfills its purpose very well and both have achieved a very high standard. ADTF is specifically focussed on vehicle engineering, whereas ROS supports a wider variety of the robotics sector (including vehicles of course). Both have got their advantages. But what if a connection between these quite similar but on the other hand not so similar at all kinds of environments have got to be brought together?
